Molly Benjamin

I’m a native Northern Californian who somehow landed here in Michigan in April 2010. Definitely not a place I had ever imagined myself to be and yet I find abundant reasons for gratitude each day I am here.

I began studying yoga almost 10 years ago while in College at UC Berkeley. While studying abroad in Japan I deeply missed attending yoga class and began a home practice inspired by the ashtanga primary series.

Upon returning to California I deepened my practice while studying regularly at Lulubandha’s in Ojai, Ca with Kira Ryder where I completed my 200 hr teacher training in 2007. In Ojai I was also blessed with the opportunity to study with many influential teachers including: Eric Schiffman, Paul Grilley and Saul David Ray. I have also been greatly inspired by anusara teachers Katchie Ananda and Kenny Graham.

In 2009 I completed a 150 hr acupressure certificate at the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley, CA. where I learned Tai Chi, Chi Gung and a hands-on approach to healing.

Throughout my exploration of the healing arts I have gravitated towards a gentler, restorative, yin style approach. I have noticed the stressful effects of a busy modern lifestyle and have found that taking plenty of time to slow down is the best antidote.

I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to teach yoga for the past several years. Through my teaching I hope to bring more softness, sweetness and ease into the practice and to create a safe space to share where everyone is invited to to be exactly who they are.
