Join the Mettā-Verse Kindness Workshop

Is worry and  fear of what’s coming next weighing you down? Feel like giving up on talking to folks with differing opinions? Have you lost faith in the goodness of our fellow man?

Mettā is a practice of inviting kindness in all of our affairs; embodying kindness in our actions, words and intentions. 

Kindness is a muscle that requires training and development.

Kindness is forgiving and forgiveness demands practice.

In this workshop, we will exercise our Mettā muscles so we know what kindness feels like in our flesh and bones.

Mettā-Verse 4-week Virtual Workshop, Zoom

Wednesdays, 7:00-8:30 p.m. EST; April 6, 13, 20, 27

We will practice it in our breath so that it is always present in our words. 

We will practice kindness in our thoughts so that perhaps we will arrest an act of hostility before it is born in our minds.

We are worthy of Mettā for ourselves. The world needs us to cultivate it, to receive it and  share it – with friends and foes. Our spirit craves it for inner peace.

Practice Commitment:

Things may get hard or uncomfortable. What do you already know about your tendencies when things get hard or uncomfortable? How do you react? Know this truth and make a plan for self-care when it comes up.

What does commitment look like to begin this journey knowing that some difficulty and discomfort are sure to surface? How do you commit to being open to a new understanding about comfort and ease? Are you willing? How will you remind yourself that you are open to learning new ways of feeling and sharing kindness?

Class format:

  • Intro – Circle check-in as a group
  • Kindness exercise/share
  • Asana/movement
  • Kindness exercise/share
  • Pranayama/breath
  • Closing exercise (meditation/visualization)
  • Circle check-out/share

Participants need:

  • Laptop or desktop with webcam
  • Enough space to move while seeing screen
  • Journal
  • Personal item for that connects you to your spirit
  • Photo of someone dear to you
  • Yoga mat, blankets, etc.


  • Participants can sign up for a private one-on-one review for $25.
