One student’s take on activating her throat chakra

Finding our voice can be one of those self realization things that make us scoff or clam up.

And yoga practices for activating the throat can make us hesitate.

You want me to do what?

Lion’s breath, where we protrude the tongue and cross our eyes? Um, nope.

Tongue exercises, massaging our inner lips and gums? Pass.

And the OM? Crickets in the room.

Rachel has been working on some of her throat chakra activation and let some silliness into her serious. And it couldn’t be more marvelous. It’s about expression, after all. Inviting freedom into our voice and letting it come out, however it may. Getting real and authentic doesn’t have to be full of so much pressure. Release the pressure valve and have some fun!
