Rethink “nothingness” with Tai Chi

Emptiness is a vibrant place!
I have felt this in my practice of Tai Chi and even yoga. Finding the abundance and vibrance in letting go, in softening, in emptying the body and the mind of resistance and insistence.

Week 3: Practice your plan, Plan your Practice – Effort

Our yoga practice is a great canvas for us to explore and learn about effort. Poses show us when we are straining or giving up. Breath reveals the quality of our ease. Our mind can be the birth place of our effort and where we cultivate sustainable effort, aka focus.

Mindfulness tip? Start where you are

“How do I turn my brain off?” This is a frequent question. “Will yoga teach me to turn off my mind?” The pace and pressure of modern American life is squeezing people into a corner where there’s nowhere to hide from the mind chatter. And most of the solace we take is in stuff that

All of them in some way try to help solve the homeless condition for tens of thousands of people in Michigan. And all of them were stressed.

Tara: Inviting mindfulness in a moment of madness

How I Learned to Live the Meditation When Sitting Was Not An Option I was pissed! Once again, despite my wholehearted intentions and efforts, another Wednesday evening had arrived and, instead of meditating with my root sangha (Buddhist meditation community), I was at home.  Feeling exhausted, out of sync, and in deep need of restoring
