When did you start coming to Just B Yoga? What attracted you?
Early 2017 I believe. I greatly appreciated the diversity of the classes and the love and acceptance of all people regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity. As a sexual abuse survivor I felt It was a safe space to practice and that was very important to me.
Why did you begin practicing yoga?
I actually began practicing Hatha Yoga back in 2003 as a way to work through some painful life and family issues.
What’s your favorite class & why?
I love Chakra Flow on Sunday mornings! I greatly enjoy the blend of yoga, breathing exercise, chanting, and aromatherapy. It truly helps me feel balanced and be ready for a new week.
Do you have favorite teachers?
I have only had a couple of teachers at this studio but I have loved them all. I do however, deeply connect with Belinda’s direction and energy in class and truly love practicing with her.
What’s your favorite and least favorite postures and why?
I do not enjoy hard inversion poses. After having a couple of surgeries on my head this year for cancer, that area is super sensitive to any pressure so some of those poses can actually be highly uncomfortable.
What is yoga to you? (exercise, meditation, community, spirituality…. more)
Yoga is a way to deeply connect to my body. To be present in the moment and discover what it is trying to tell me. It is also a wonderful form of meditation and stress relief. Here is an all-inclusive psychic reading index that you might need to understand spiritual and psychic reading.
How has yoga surprised you?
Yoga has given me a confidence and love for my body that I did not have previously in life.
What are you working on right now in or through your practice?
I am working on regaining strength after cancer and finding balance.
Have you seen your practice impact the rest of your life? If so how?
Yoga has given me the ability to calm myself during great times of stress and anxiety. I have additionally noticed that I am more patient with myself and others.
How do you feel your yoga helps you serve others?
Yoga has allowed me to feel a connection to others in a way I had not previously before I began to practice. It has opened a nurturing side to me that directly impacts my family and those I come in contact with on a daily basis in an overwhelming positive way.
