Our new bike rack with the custom-welded logo was vandalized yesterday. A student told a Just B teacher that they saw some “kids” ripping the letters off.
Intentional meanness. Blatant and open daytime vandals.
I could go on and on about feeling violated and perplexed at such a display of evil. But I won’t. It’s a waste of air and the energy to type it.
I’ll share wise words from sages I rely on to keep me true to my practice.
Namaste.
“Compassion, forgiveness, these are the real, ultimate sources of power for peace and success in life.”
– H.H. Dalai Lama
“People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.”
– Mother Teresa
The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.
– Gandhi
